Chapter 340 Catching The Enemy (Part 1)

The individual, whose face resembles that of a crocodile and whose body is covered with light yellow scales, raised his fingernails, which were scaly and pointed, and used his skill towards the mob that was in front of him.

A cold energy suddenly gathered at the tip of this Reptilian\'s fingertip, oscillating at a rapid speed, as it targeted the blue slime standing just over a meter tall. The skill struck the slime with the precision and impact of a bullet, causing it to freeze rapidly.

\'\'This was the last one. \'\' The Reptilian man said to his three teammates as he looked at the slime, which began to freeze quickly under the influence of the cold bullet.

\'\'Good, with this we\'ve already hunted close to 300 water slimes. It\'s fortunate we found this spot. \'\' Another Reptilian man commented, collecting the frozen slimes and placing them in his dimensional storage.

Because every member of the team possessed the skills associated with the ice element in addition to the inherent advantages of their race, it was very simple for them to eliminate these slimes because the slimes were susceptible to the ice\'s effects. Since there are a lot of water slimes in this area, it appears to be their territory; consequently, they were able to locate a large number of water slimes that were traveling in groups and easily kill them without having to move around in the area to find them.

\'\'Are there any other groups nearby? \'\' One of the Reptilian men inquired.

\'\'Yes, about 10 meters ahead. But there\'s a problem—someone is approaching. \'\' The Reptilian item holder, whose face consisted of puffy green scales and a flickering forked tongue, informed the group.

\'\'Someone from an enemy team? \'\' The Reptilian men asked.

\'\'Yes. \'\'

\'\'How many? \'\'

\'\'Only 1. \'\'

\'\'What\'s the danger level? \'\'

The group\'s investigative item holder squinted his eyes upon hearing this question before responding. \'\'I\'m not entirely certain. Perhaps around 4? \'\'

\'\'What do you mean, perhaps? \'\' A furrow appeared on the brow of one of the Reptilian men as he sought clarification.

Within their group, they had a system for rating the strength of their enemies on a scale from 1 to 10. Although it was challenging to determine an opponent\'s exact strength with just a cursory glance, they could make a general assessment based on visual cues such as appearance, speed, and equipment.

\'\'It\'s weird. He doesn\'t seem to have any items on as he is naked. And he only has a weak-looking spirit beast with him. \'\' The investigative item holder, with vertical slit-shaped pupils and no eyelids, remarked as he observed Raydon approaching them.

\'\'No items? Then why the hell did you rate him 4 out of 10? \'\' Another team member questioned with suspicion.

\'\'Because he is fast. He is at least twice as fast as any of us. \'\' The investigative reptilian man explained. \'\'Besides, this is an E-Rank match. Why would someone join a match without any of their protective equipment? Something seems off here. \'\'

After hearing this explanation, the other reptilian men also found the situation to be suspicious, and they immediately began deliberating on what course of action to take. After a brief discussion, they reached a decision.

\'\'We\'re leaving. \'\' One of the reptilian men declared firmly, having stowed away the last frozen slime in his dimensional storage.

To them, Raydon\'s speed wasn\'t the primary concern, as he likely allocated all his earned stat points to agility. The fact that he had no items made him appear weak. However, given the suspicious circumstances, they concluded that Raydon himself was likely bait, and one of the other enemy teams was setting a trap. As a precaution, they decided it was best to retreat and avoid falling into this potential trap.

Moreover, their primary objective in this match was not to emerge as the victors or advance to a higher rank. Their main focus was to gather as many experience points and loot as possible. As a result, they purposely avoided engaging in unnecessary conflicts or battles with other teams.

\'\'Alright, I\'ve just found another spot with numerous water slimes, about 600 meters away from here. Let\'s head there. \'\' The investigative reptilian man sang out, taking the lead as he ran towards their next farming location.

\'\'Hey, we were supposed to find them by now, but where are they? \'\' As Raydon continued running, unable to spot his intended target, he turned his gaze to the cat on his shoulder and inquired.

\'\'Meow. \'\'

The cat\'s response was to raise its paw once again, indicating a slightly different direction from the path Raydon was taking.

\'Hm? Did they notice me or are they just changing their location? \' Raydon pondered.

If they were merely relocating to find another hunting ground, that wouldn\'t be a problem. However, since they were fleeing upon detecting Raydon\'s approach, it was evident that they were actively trying to avoid him. For Raydon, capturing a fleeing enemy would be time-consuming and not ideal.

\'\'Death Sense. \'\'

Raydon utilized his investigative skill, hoping to visually locate the enemy team.

Fortunately, the enemy team had entered the range of his skill, granting him a visual of their positions.

[1482 / 1600]

[365 / 380]

[450 / 450]

[520 / 520]

\'\'This must be the team that the battle maid found. It appears they have spotted me.\'\' Raydon thought as he observed the HP bars of the four individuals rushing away from him further ahead.

\'\'Fuck. \'\' Raydon suddenly halted his sprint and cursed, wearing an expression of anger.

Although his current speed was considerable and he felt confident in his ability to catch up to the fleeing group, he knew it would consume a significant amount of time.

Raydon first considered using the Presence Aura sub-skill. However, unlike the encounter with the Lion Men earlier, this group was already in the process of escaping. If they were to sense his overwhelming and formidable presence, they would likely flee even faster out of fear.

Thus, he concluded that the plan would backfire and opted for an alternative approach.

Gripping the cat on his shoulder by the neck, Raydon commanded, \'\'Free ride is over. Just follow closely behind me.\'\'

With those words, he tossed the cat into the air. As it soared with its wings, he activated the berserker technique once again.
