A Female Forensic Doctor Transmigrates into a Book as the Female Supporting Character

Chapter 32

“What’s there to introduce? Captain Feng, what do you think of our forensic doctor Yin? With such good looks between the two of you, just imagine how beautiful your baby will be!” Captain Chen, who had also drank a lot, said with a smile after taking a glance at Yin Tao, who had been quietly eating.

When Yin Tao heard Captain Chen’s words, she nearly bit her tongue. She had suddenly become the center of attention. Yin Tao looked at everyone watching her and smiled awkwardly. She picked up the glass of fruit juice in front of her and downed it in one gulp.

“I don’t have any plans to fall in love for the time being.” Feng Jing looked at Yin Tao, who was obviously stunned, and explained.

“Well there is no hurry. If there’s someone suitable, you should give it a try. With Captain Feng qualities, which young lady wouldn’t be willing?” Zhang Han tried to mitigate the awkward situation and glanced at where Yin Tao was seated.

She was really unwilling! Yin Tao felt frustrated, but she couldn’t say anything. She could only vent her anger by digging into the dishes in front of her.

Feng Jing and the officers of division two chatted happily. From time to time, he would look in Yin Tao’s direction and observe that she was either eating or drinking, almost without stopping.

From the time he first met this little girl, she had been eating non-stop. Looking at Yin Tao’s fair fingers nimbly controlling the chopsticks, Feng Jing suddenly thought of the scalpel in her hand. He hurriedly stopped his thoughts else he might just throw up, especially since he had already had a lot to drink.

Feng Jing shook his head helplessly. This was the first time he had encountered such an interesting little girl in more than twenty years. She looked petite and cute, but she was terrifyingly calm when facing a corpse.

Thinking about what happened in the afternoon, Feng Jing suddenly felt a little nauseated. He excused himself to go to the washroom and walked out of the restaurant. He only gradually calmed down after he lit a cigarette.

After a while, Feng Jing was about to return when he saw Yin Tao walking toward him reluctantly.

“Are you alright?” Under Captain Chen’s repeated request, Yin Tao had no choice but to come out to check on Feng Jing.

“Yes, I’m fine. I drank a little too much.” Feng Jing felt a little stuffy in his chest. He closed his eyes and pressed the bridge of his nose. Suddenly, a refreshing and soothing smell entered his nose.

When he opened his eyes, she saw Yin Tao’s fair fingers in front of his eyes. She was holding a small green glass bottle.

“Mint-flavored balm. I usually carry it with me.” Yin Tao placed the glass bottle in Feng Jing’s hand. “You can have it. I still have a lot at home. It’s great for refreshing yourself.”

Yin Tao remembered that the first time she dissected a corpse, she couldn’t eat properly for a week. Feng Jing’s threshold was already considered pretty high.

Feeling the cool touch of Yin Tao’s fingertips, Feng Jing was already more than half awake. He took the glass bottle and lowered his head slightly to sniff. The nausea was greatly reduced instantly.

“Thank you.” Feng Jing looked at Yin Tao with gentle eyes.

Perhaps it was because Feng Jing had drank alcohol, or perhaps it was because the orange light from the street lamps have shrouded him in a warm hue, Yin Tao felt that Feng Jing seemed to have become much more softer and gentler, unlike his usual cold and lonesome self.

The ringtone of a cell phone broke the silence between the two of them.

“Come in after you’ve answered the call. Captain Chen is still looking for you.” Yin Tao smiled at Feng Jing, who was in a daze, before she turned around and entered the restaurant.

Feng Jing answered the call when he saw Lin Jia’s caller ID.

“Hello.” Feng Jing’s voice was softer than usual.

“Big Brother! You can’t hurt people like this!” Lin Jia complained to Feng Jing. He was a little hysterical. “Were you not uninterested in Yin Tao? Why was she in your car?”

“It was on the way.” Feng Jing’s voice was a little hoarse. Lin Jia could tell the difference.

“Have you been drinking?”

“Yes, Yin Tao is here too,” Feng Jing replied calmly.

Lin Jia’s voice grew louder. “You’re eating with Yin Tao?!”

“The entire detective division two is here.” Feng Jing carefully put the ointment Yin Tao gave him into his pocket.

“Oh, isn’t she an archival clerk or something? Why is she attending a detective gathering?” Lin Jia’s tone finally calmed down a little. So it was a gathering of the detectives! He had thought that hell hath frozen over!

“She’s division two’s forensic doctor…”

Feng Jing’s voice came through the phone. For a moment, Lin Jia thought that he had heard wrongly.

“Forensic doctor!?”

Feng Jing was a little disgusted with Lin Jia for making such a fuss. He held his phone a bit further away. Obviously, he had already forgotten the look on his own face when he saw Yin Tao dissecting the corpse.

“Hmm, if there’s nothing else, you can come and pick me up later. I’ll send you my location. We have all been drinking, so you can also drive Yin Tao back to the police station.”

Seeing that Lin Jia did not respond, Feng Jing hung up the phone. Surely this guy cannot be so timid.
